Gas in Florida drops to lowest in 2 years. How much are you paying? See prices
Gas prices have dropped this week in Florida, and most areas, including Miami-Dade and Broward, remain under $3 a gallon.
Monday morning’s state average, $2.84 a gallon, is the lowest since December 2023, according to AAA.
“Low gas prices should give travelers confidence as they finalize Thanksgiving road trip plans,” said Mark Jenkins, spokesman, AAA - The Auto Club Group. “However, based on recent price patterns, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see gas prices increase this week.”
That would continue the yo-yo pattern in Florida gas prices. Last week, prices were up a few cents a gallon.
Miami-area prices are more than 8 cents lower from a month ago and more than 21 cents lower than a year ago, according to GasBuddy, a national fuel monitoring service that surveys nearly 1,700 stations in South Florida.
North Florida remains the cheapest to get gas in the state. Naples and Palm Beach County are among the most expensive areas.

What the experts are saying
▪ Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy: “The national average price of gasoline edged higher last week, with the vast majority of states seeing prices climb. Refinery issues in the Great Lakes and West Coast have kept prices elevated, and gasoline inventory data from the government showed another large weekly drop in supplies, which has temporarily propped up prices. With thousands of flight cancellations ahead of Thanksgiving due to the FAA flight cuts, there could be slight shifts in gasoline demand, which may limit any near-term declines.”
How to find cheap gas near you
There’s an app to help: The GasBuddy app was built to show motorists prices around them and a fuel tracker can update users on stations that have or don’t have fuel based on supply changes.
