Forbes, the national business magazine, published a list of Top 100 “best employers” — and six companies based in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties made the cut: four hospital networks and two cruise ship companies.
The No. 1 company on the list? Navy Federal Credit Union of Virginia.
“There are still open jobs in the labor market, and our latest rankings of the best employers in each state can serve as a handy guide for job seekers,” Forbes says.

Forbes partnered with a market research firm for its survey of 160,000 workers at companies of at least 500 people. Questions included how likely they were to recommend their employer and how they would rate their workplace based on wages, culture and professional advancement.
Florida companies in the top 100 include Florida Blue in Jacksonville, Raymond James Financial in St. Petersburg, CSX Transportation in Jacksonville, Rooms To Go in Seffner, the University of Florida in Gainesville, the University of South Florida in Tampa, Darden Restaurants in Orlando, and Publix Super Markets in Lakeland.
Here are the six South Florida companies that made the Forbes “best employers list” along with their ranking in the top 100:
