Double-decker tourists buses are venturing into new neighborhoods these days, including Wynwood, Historic Overtown and the Design District.

Big Bus Tours Miami and the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau on Thursday will officially launch the new “Uptown Loop” hop-on hop-off tour, which also includes Midtown and historic parts of downtown Miami.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony is planned for Thursday morning at Overtown’s Lyric Theatre.

The tourism bureau said in a press release that the new route, which had a soft launch in September, is meant to give visitors and locals a new way to “explore and experience Miami’s historically and culturally rich heritage neighborhoods.”

An existing “Beach Loop” travels Miami Beach and a “City Loop” includes stops in Coral Gables, Coconut Grove and Little Havana.
