Uber plans to set up its Miami headquarters at an office tower in Brickell, the company’s new landlord said in a press release Monday.
The ride-sharing service has signed a lease for about 9,300 square feet of office space at Brickell City Tower, which is located at 80 SW Eighth St. in Miami’s financial district. Uber spokesman Bill Gibbons did not respond when asked how many employees will work at the new office or what their roles will be.
Uber recently announced that it plans to suspend operations in Broward County after July 31 because of what it called “onerous” regulations there.
The company will continue to operate in Miami-Dade County.
