You’re paying less for gas in Florida and Miami. What to know about prices at the pump
The temperatures are a bit down this week — and so are gas prices.
A week after a gas-price increase and last month’s supply issues from the Fort Lauderdale flood, gas prices have dropped in the Miami area and across Florida. That’s according to a survey of nearly 1,700 stations from fuel-monitoring service GasBuddy and the latest data from AAA.
In the Miami area, gas dropped 5.4 cents a gallon from last week.

Cheapest and most expensive gas in the Miami area
▪ The cheapest gas in the Miami area: $3.23 a gallon on Monday, according to GasBuddy.
▪ The highest price: $4.99 a gallon.
▪ The average price: $3.64, down 5.4 cents a gallon from last week.
Florida price at the pump
Average: The average price for a gallon of gas in Florida on Monday, according to AAA, was $3.64, down about 7 cents a gallon from last week.
Gas prices around Florida
Cape Coral: $3.65 a gallon
Naples: $3.71
Sarasota: $3.65
U.S. price at the pump
Average: The average price for a gallon of gas across the country on Monday, according to AAA, was $3.61.
What the experts are saying
▪ Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy: “With refinery maintenance wrapping up, we should see supplies start to build in the weeks ahead, just in time for the summer driving season, potentially putting more downward pressure on prices. However, while a majority of states saw gas prices drop, some, particularly in the Northeast, have yet to join in thanks to being the last to make the switch to summer gasoline - but relief will be on the way soon in areas that have resisted the fall thus far.”
