Greenberg Traurig law firm opening 38th office in Berlin

Greenberg Traurig, the third largest law firm in the U.S., is opening an office in Berlin. It will be the firm’s 38th, according to a release.

The law firm, whose Miami headquarters was founded in 1967 and has more than 150 attorneys, will open the German office Oct. 1. Greenberg Traurig will acquire Berlin’s Olswang firm, an international law practices that specializes in technology, media and telecommunications.

More than 50 German attorneys, including 14 shareholders, will join Greenberg Traurig.

Since opening an Amsterdam office in 2002, Greenberg Traurig has significantly expanded internationally. The firm also has offices in London, Warsaw, Shanghai, Seoul, Tokyo, Mexico City and Tel Aviv.

Greenberg Traurig employs more than 1,800 attorneys around the world.
