Is your Thanksgiving meal more expensive this year? This interactive chart shows you
The cost of cooking your Thanksgiving meal is more expensive this year. But how much have prices gone up?
Many of us will be shopping in the days leading up to Thanksgiving, or at least running to the supermarket to grab an ingredient or two that we need.
If you’re not going the cooked-from-scratch route, Miami-area supermarkets are offering Thanksgiving meal deals that include already cooked main courses and sides.
But whether you are buying a cooked meal or the ingredients to make your own, you will feel it in your wallet. Inflation and bird flu are pushing up prices. So be ready to fork over more money for your raw bird or fully cooked holiday dinners at South Florida stores.
The interactive chart below shows the consumer price index for the basics you’ll need to make a feast: turkey, ham, vegetables, bread, butter and potatoes.
