Rodents in a Broward Infiniti dealer’s food service area chewed open a bag of chips

A Florida Department of Agriculture inspector shut down much of the food service area for Infiniti of Coconut Creek customers after finding “rodent excreta.”
Those little areas, there to make sure you don’t get hangry while waiting to find out how much that repair will cost you, count as a “minor outlet with significant food service and/or packaged ice” and can be inspected by the same folks who inspect convenience stores and supermarkets.

That’s why Inspector Tariqul Islam dropped by the Infiniti dealership at 5501 W. Sample Rd. on July 14. A re-inspection will occur this Thursday, July 28, after what he found: “Rodent excreta observed on cabinet shelf under handwashing sink” and in the backroom, “rodent excreta observed on several areas of backroom floor and also observed that a rodent chewed up a bag of chips.”
Islam dropped stop-use orders on the Pepsi fountain drink machine, the ice maker, the Bunn coffee brewer, the oven and another coffee machine.
The inspection warns: “If evidence of pest infestation is observed on the next inspection, a Stop-Use Order will be issued on all receiving areas of the establishment and the establishment will no longer be allowed to receive additional food items. A Stop-Use Order of all processing equipment will be issued and a Stop-Sale Order of all exposed food items will be issued until the infestation is eradicated.”
