Senior-level hires and promotions for the week of Nov. 7, 2021

BANKING

Calixto (Cali) Garcia-Velez has been named the new president and CEO of Banesco USA in Coral Gables, succeeding Mario Oliva, who will step down from that position. Garcia-Velez was an executive vice president of First BanCorp and was regional executive of FirstBank Florida.

Intercredit Bank in Miami-Dade County has announced two senior level positions. Matthew K. Cordis has been named executive vice president/chief operations officer, and Annelise C. Ferrer has been named senior vice president/residential lending officer. Cordis served as a director of Intercredit’s Board of Directors from 2017 to 2020. Before that he was director of operations in Latin America for authID.ai, formerly Ipsidy. Ferrer was a vice president/residential lending officer at Professional Bank.

Terrabank has promoted Adriana Nino to senior vice president, human resources director. She joined Terrabank in 1997. Before that, she was assistant manager at Banco Union del Paraguay in Miami.

DESIGN

Reinaldo Gomez has been promoted to regional director Ware Malcomb’s Miami office. He is a registered architect and joined Ware Malcomb in 2016 as a regional manager.

HEALTHCARE

Palm Medical Centers in Coral Gables has named Jim McHugh as its chief financial officer. He was vice president of financial planning and analytics at Southwestern Health Resources in Dallas-Fort Worth. Before that, he was the chief financial officer for North Texas Specialty Physicians in Fort Worth, Texas.

LAW

Evan D. Rosenberg has joined Berger Singerman in Miami as a partner, and Shara Pipitone has joined as an associate. Both attorneys are members of the firm’s business, finance and tax team. Before joining the firm, Rosenberg worked at Becker & Poliakoff in Fort Lauderdale. Prior to that, he practiced at Rosenberg & Estis, a real estate law firm in New York. Pipitone will focus her practice on real estate private equity and debt platforms in the firm’s Fort Lauderdale office.

Monte I. Greenberg has joined Colliers South Florida in Miami as director of the firm’s debt and equity finance practice. He was a director with Bluestone Consulting Services in South Florida.

PUBLIC RELATIONS

Laura Burns has been promoted to senior vice president of BoardroomPR in Fort Lauderdale. She has been vice president since 2019, and account director before that. She joined the firm in 2012. Before that, she was an executive producer at WPLG/Local 10, the ABC News affiliate in Miami.

TOURISM

Carol Motley has been named senior vice president of convention sales and services at the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau. She was director of convention sales at Destination DC in Washington, D.C.
