Is your Bank of America branch one of the 53 in South Florida closed? Will it reopen?

At least 53 Bank of America branches in Miami-Dade, Broward and Monroe counties have been temporarily closed.

Bank of America has done the same thing in Central Florida, as reported by the Orlando Sentinel. Blame COVID-19.

“We’re taking steps to support not only our clients, but also employees during the health crisis. that includes temporarily closing some financial centers,” Bank of America spokesman Matthew Daily said. “That has happened where the foot traffic is low or when we don’t have sufficient staffing in that center to remain open.”

The ATMs at the closed branches still work.

Despite the increased presence of online and mobile banking, some people still prefer to handle their business in a branch, face-to-face with a teller. For those people, Daily stressed that these are “temporary closures.”

“When we make the decision to close a center, we work to reopen it as soon as possible.”

Bank of America suggests checking the branch locator on its website to see if your branch has been closed. Below is a list compiled from the website Tuesday night. The list might not be comprehensive.
