Alexa, where should I shop? A new Amazon 4-Star store is opening in Miami Beach
It’s happening. After all those Amazon orders you placed during quarantine, you’ll now be able to shop for your favorite things in the flesh.
Miami Beach is getting its very own Amazon 4 Star store, only one of three locations in Florida.
The 5,000 square feet spot will be located at 700 Lincoln Road, taking over where recently shuttered Nexxt Cafe left off.
The store will carry “highly curated products that are new, trending, and rated 4-stars and above by Amazon.com customers,” according to a release Monday.
Think electronics, toys, games, kitchenware, home goods, books and more.
You’ll be able to peruse by category in a relaxed, tech friendly environment, the Jeff Bezos-owned company says. Read: Alexa can be your in-house personal shopper.
Despite the lockdown and stay-at-home orders that have more or less paralyzed the economy for months, the hopes are high for the store.
“The evolution of retail coupled with the ongoing aftermath of a health pandemic have proven that when it comes to retail space, the three primary principles of real estate still apply: location, location, location,” says Tim Schmand, executive director of the Lincoln Road Business Improvement District.
The opening date is unclear. Late last month, Miami Dade County reopened stores after the coronavirus quarantine, adhering to Phase 1 guidelines.
Elsewhere in Florida, a 4 Star store is also set for Palm Beach and Orlando.
