Biz2Credit, an online resource for small business finance, and Univision Enterprises, the products and services division of Hispanic media giant Univision Communications, have partnered up provide Latino business owners with a broad set of small business resources and tools.
Latinos are starting businesses at more than twice the start-up rate for all U.S. firms, according to Kauffman Foundation and other entrepreneurship research. But to address challenges of securing capital, Biz2Credit and Univision have launched a bilingual small business platform, www.empresitio.com, offering access to lending products as well as educational resources including periodic research reports on the state of Latino businesses and Biz2Credit’s Small Business Lending Index.
“This is a very important partnership for us. The community we serve is very entrepreneurial and poised for growth,” said Rick Alessandri, EVP of Enterprise Development of Univision Communications. “Traditionally, the financing landscape has been difficult to navigate but through this new platform our customers will not only find lending options but also learn how to grow their businesses.”
This partnership is an extension of the work Univision has been doing to provide Hispanic entrepreneurs with access to the information and tools to succeed. In March, as part of the Company’s Univision Contigo efforts, Univision celebrated Latino entrepreneurship with a month-long effort which included nationwide events, awareness events, boot camps and enhanced tools.
