‘UNBELIEVABLE.’ LeBron James gets his first look at UNKNWN’s new Wynwood location
The King couldn’t be happier.
LeBron James got his first look at UNKNWN’s flagship store in Wynwood Thursday evening and could barely contain his excitement.
“New location in Wynwood is UNBELIEVABLE!!!” the three-time champion wrote on Instagram. “If you haven’t checked it out I would seriously recommend you to do so!”
James, who was in town to play the Miami Heat, stopped by to attend the preview of their new UNKNWN x Thom Browne capsule collection. Featuring everything from shirts to socks to slides, the collaboration drops Sunday.
Located behind Wynwood Walls at 261 NW 26 St., the boutique opened during Art Basel on Dec. 5 to long lines that stretched nearly half a block.
UNKNWN, a Miami-based retail destination that James co-owns with his childhood friends Frankie Walker Jr. and Jaron Kanfer, opened its first location in 2011 at the Aventura Mall.
Since moving to Wynwood, the store has already utilized its basketball court to host a three-on-three basketball tournament and a concert. Those events, however, are just the beginning, as the Herald previously reported.
Seeing the new store probably was like holding a newborn for James. He celebrated the next day by hanging a near triple-double on the Heat to hand them their first home loss of the season.
