AutoNation sells 10 millionth vehicle, releases May sales figures

AutoNation, the nation’s largest car dealer and based in Fort Lauderdale, sold its 10 millionth vehicle this month. AutoNation sales were up 5 percent this month compared to May of last year. Sales in the retail vehicle industry were up 12 percent in Florida and 2 percent overall.

AutoNation, the largest car dealer in the country and based in Fort Lauderdale, sold its 10 millionth vehicle this month.

Daisy Gomez, the director of provider relations for Baroma Health Partners and a single mother, bought a 2015 Jeep Wrangler for her daughter as a high school graduation gift from an AutoNation dealership in Pembroke Pines.

AutoNation sales were up 5 percent this month compared to May of last year. Sales in the retail vehicle industry were up 12 percent in Florida and 2 percent overall.

According to a news release, May sales are better than they’ve been since 2000.
