Lawyer Jim Ferrero buys Fisher Island penthouse listed for $27 million
Lawyer Jim Ferraro is buying a 6,644-squre-foot penthouse at Fisher Island’s newest building, Palazzo Del Sol. The property was listed at $27,189,200.
The four-bedroom apartment will feature 18-foot ceilings and views spanning Biscayne Bay, the Atlantic Ocean and South Pointe Park. Construction should be completed in January.
Swiss landscape architect Enzo Enea is designing the 6,410-square-foot outdoor space with an open deck, a pool and panoramic views.
Ferraro, who played football for the University of Miami, gained a national reputation as a litigator following his successful 1996 suit against DuPont for causing a birth defect. His Miami and Cleveland firms are known for lawsuits over asbestos and other environmental hazards.
“It was great for us to get a local guy,” said Dora Puig, Palazzo Del Sol’s sales director. “He’s going to live in it full-time.”
Ferraro’s penthouse is the second of three Palazzo Del Sol penthouses to go under contract. The first went for $35 million to an undisclosed Russian buyer in the highest sale price recorded on Fisher Island.
