After its inaugural year, the Art Miami New York fair is rebranding to make the “Miami” part of the title an afterthought.
The show, produced by the Miami-based company that also puts on Art Miami, Art Wynwood, Context Art Miami and several other events, will be called Art New York, presented by Art Miami.
“The decision to change the name to Art New York, presented by Art Miami is to reinforce that the fair has now established itself during the most important week for the arts during the Spring season in NY — while still maintaining the identifiable brand and respected history of Art Miami,” Nicholas Korniloff, partner and executive vice president of Art Miami LLC, said in a statement.
Attendance at this year’s show, held from May 14-17 during Frieze Week in New York, was 19,500. Next year’s edition is scheduled for May 12-15.
