South Florida tech company sold for a cool half-billion
If you’re questioning the value of higher education, consider construction tech company e-Builder. The 23-year-old Miami firm that started as a master’s thesis was just acquired for a cool half-billion dollars.
Trimble, a public company that offers management systems for construction, agriculture, transportation and logistics, announced Friday it has purchased e-Builder in an all-cash purchase.
Plantation-based e-Builder was founded in in 1995 by brothers Ron and Jon Antevy, who will continued to run the company, which will remain in South Florida. The concept came from Jon’s master’s thesis while studying construction management at the University of Florida. He also holds a degree in architecture. Brother Ron graduate from UF with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
