Foreclosures down in Miami-Dade for start of 2015

Mirroring a statewide trend, the January foreclosure rate for Miami-Dade County dropped by nearly half compared to the same month last year.

The percentage of homes in the county in foreclosure was 4.38 percent in January 2015, down from 4.63 percent in December of 2014 and 8.22 percent in January 2014, according to data collected by the property analytics firm CoreLogic.

Miami-Dade’s foreclosure rate was still higher than the January rate in Florida (3.55 percent) and in the United States (1.46 percent).
