Why did the chicken company cross the recall road?

No nitrates added, brags the packaging for Perdue Foods’ organic Harvestland Italian Style Chicken Sausage. No MSG, either.

But plastic?

Three customer complaints about blue plastic materials in the sausage caused a recall of 2,148 pounds of the food item ON Saturday, according to the USDA.

All the potentially foul fowl was produced on March 27. The package code is “64405” with a Sell or Freeze By date of June 25, 2017.

Despite also being from Georgia, the family that runs Perdue Foods is not related to new Secretary of Agriculture and former Georgia governor Sonny Perdue.
