Qatar Airways to increase flights, plane size for Miami-Doha route
Miami's only direct flight to the Middle East will carry more people more often.
Miami International Airport announced Wednesday that Qatar Airways will swap out the aircraft it flies between Miami and Doha for a plane with more capacity on May 2. The carrier will use using a Boeing 777-300ER with capacity for 335 passengers instead of the Boeing 777-200LR it now uses with 259 seats.
The airline will switch to daily Miami-Doha service, up from five flights a week, on Nov. 18.
Qatar Airways launched the route in June of 2014; according to MIA, the service has “proven extremely popular with travelers.”
