Austrian Airlines will start operating out of Miami International Airport this fall when the carrier launches direct service between Miami and Vienna.
Flights will run five times a week; the nonstop service starts Oct. 16.
Miami hasn’t had direct flights to Vienna for at least 20 years, an airport spokesman said. And Austrian Airlines, which flies to four other destination in the United States, will be a newcomer at MIA.
The airline will use a Boeing 777-200ER aircraft that carries 308 passengers for the flights.
