Museum of Ice Cream returns to a rooftop at this adults-only hotel in Miami Beach
When the Museum of Ice Cream opened in the Faena District in December of 2017, Miami flocked there with the kids and cellphones in hand, hoping to reign supreme on Instagram. It closed in 2019, taking its problematic plastic sprinkles with it.
Now, TikTok is king, and the selfie paradise is returning for a special weekend pop-up. But this time, only adults are invited.
The museum, which is not really a museum but an interactive experience, is setting up shop at Hotel Greystone on Collins Avenue in Miami Beach, transforming the rooftop pool deck into a pink paradise (or nightmare, depending on how you look at such things).
This time, though, you can’t bring the kids. The boutique hotel only admits adults, so you have to be 21 to be there.
This version of the museum will include the signature pink palm trees, as well as hanging bananas (that are not actual bananas — this isn’t Art Basel). You’ll be able to order Blue Bell ice cream, too.
The popular and controversial sprinkle pool, which drew a sanitation violation with a $1,000 fine from the Miami Beach Code Compliance department last time around, is back. This time it’s got sprinkle-shaped floaties to pose on.
Because this is a grown-up party, there’s more than ice cream on the menu. You can order cocktails, too, highlighting such brands as Tito’s Vodka, Frangelico Liqueur, Grand Marnier and Mur Mur rum.
The pop-up runs for two days, with an afternoon and evening session each day. Tickets are on sale now.
