Ecstatic dancing, drum circles, giant art: Miami, say hello to your mini Burning Man

Miami, open your heart to Art With Me.

The famed Burning Man-style festival, held in Tulum, Mexico, last year, is coming to us Friday through Sunday at Historic Virginia Key Beach Park in Key Biscayne. And you may be a better person for it (or at the very least, count to 10 before you beep your horn in I-95 traffic after leaving).

The highly immersive festival “offers experiences across multiple platforms that immerse, inspire and activate attendees and followers” during a “journey to inspire change, and nurture personal growth.”

Translation: The three-day experience features not just art installations and exhibits, but live musical acts, dancing and yoga classes, reiki healing sessions, drum circles, wellness panels (with a side of ice baths), community development workshops, kids’ activities, food and more.

Basically, the point is to have fun and do good. Art With Me has teamed up with local initiatives to promote a more conscious lifestyle in the 305.

In last year’s festival in Tulum, for example, more than 10,000 participants helped clear two tons of plastic off the streets. The waste was then recycled. This year, organizers have teamed up with the Care with Me Foundation, helping at risk kids, many who come from refugee backgrounds.

Founder David Graziano says he is beyond excited to debut the four year old event in the Magic City to help “cultivate positive change.”

“In a world where we emphasize productivity over health, global communication over personal connection and glamour over beauty, Art with Me is an authentic breath of fresh air revitalizing the connection between community, self and the interconnectivity of all things,” Graziano said.
