Here’s what to do on Presidents’ Day weekend in Miami besides drink wine on your couch

We’ve barely recovered from the Super Bowl, and now Miami’s next biggest weekend is here.

Yes. Remember Presidents Day Weekend? The second three-day-weekend of the year means lot of events - and lots of traffic. Prepare yourself accordingly.

Whether you want to look at art or boats, listen to jazz or just enjoy the perfect South Florida weather - at least, we hope it’s perfect - there’s something for you to do.

Coconut Grove Arts Festival

This three-day outdoor festival showcases about 360 artists in booths stretching about a mile along Biscayne Bay. There’s food, drink and activities for kids. And art. Lots of art. Also for the first time the festival is hosting a kickoff concert, featuring Emily Estefan at 6 p.m. Feb. 14 at Peacock Park.

Art Wynwood

Still missing Art Basel? Here’s something to keep you busy: The ninth edition of this art fair on Biscayne Bay, which kicks off with an invitation-only preview on Feb. 13. The fair, located at the old Miami Herald site, showcases contemporary market, mid-career artists, blue chip contemporary, post-war and modern masters.

Miami International Boat Show

Miami Yacht Show

Across three marinas in downtown Miami, this swanky show will highlight the world’s most extraordinary and uniquely designed yachts and superyachts from the world’s foremost custom boat builders, including Bold by SilverYachts, the largest superyacht on display.

Where can you listen to Albita, drag performers, dance, watch a film and discover the winner of Miami’s Best Sandwich competition, hosted by the great Burger Beast? Gay8, that’s where. The free music, art, food and fun festival, hosted by the Hispanic/Latino/Latinx LGBTQ+ community, draws thousands to Calle Ocho to celebrate the arts from film to fashion shows (for people and pets).

Seraphic Fire’s Enlightenment Festival

This multiweek festival from the Miami-based vocal ensemble is dedicated to 18th century composers and will feature the music of Bach in three concerts over the holiday weekend. The festival runs through Feb. 23.
