Gorillaz to headline III Points for rare, first-time-ever Miami performance
UPDATE: Added to the line up along with Gorillaz are RÜFÜS DU SOL, Skepta, BADBADNOTGOOD, Willow Smith, Melody’s Echo Chamber, Yves Tumor, Serpentwithfeet, SOHN, Mild High Club, Romare, Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith, Arca + Jessie Kande, Kali Uchis, The xx, Nicolas Jaar, Richie Hawtin, Lil B, Thundercat (live), Bonobo (live) and Madlib.
Gorillaz will perform in Miami for the first time ever in October as the headlining act of III Point Music, Art and Technology Festival.
Organizers of three-day festival made the announcement Monday morning after teasing fans over the weekend.

Also Monday morning, Gorillaz released the stops on its new Humanz Tour 2017. The self-proclaimed virtual band, which was formed nearly two decades ago in 1998, is set to release its fifth studio album, “Humanz,” on April 28. It begins touring in July with a final stop AT III Points Festival on Oct. 13 through Oct. 15.

III Points festival isn’t just Gorillaz’ first concert in Miami. It’s also their first and only performance in Florida, according to the festival’s Twitter account. The headlining act is being touted an “exclusive Florida performance” on promotional material. The band has only performed 58 live shows since it was created in the ’90s.

III Points seeks to celebrate the arts, technology and music that find a home in Miami. It will mark five years at Mana Wynwood.
The complete artist lineup has not yet been announced, but pre-sale general admission tickets can be purchased online Friday for $111.
Tickets will also be available locally at 3 p.m. Thursday at The Anderson at 709 NE 79th St, Miami.
