Things To Do

Finnegan’s Music Festival

DJs are fun, but every now and then you want to hear music being played with actual instruments (yes, we understand that some would argue that their fancy Mac is an instrument).

Finnegan’s River will take care of Miami’s live music lovers this Labor Day Weekend with a three-day festival with some of Miami’s favorite bands like ArtOfficial, PALO!, Jahfe, Elastic Bond, Ketchy Shuby, Suenalo, ¡MAYDAY!, Rosamora (comprised of El Chino Dreadlion, Phil Maranges and Kenichi Ohme), Conjunto Progreso, Rich Kid Sound System, Oigo, Nag Champyons, Johnny Dread, Fusik, Dangerflow, Don Sha, Lanzallamas Monofonica, Elastic Bond and Xperimento.

The festival will run all weekend, kicking off in the afternoon with a pool party each day, and running into the wee hours. The fun starts at 4p.m. on Friday, then at 2 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, with each day jam-packed with music including six to eight live acts per day plus DJ sets by resident DJ Jammin Jorge and special guests in between performers.

The three-day fest is a showcase of the best pop, reggae, hip-hop, and Latin fusion groups Miami has to offer. And what would a pool party be without a bikini contest? All the ladies out there who want to strut their stuff can enter the Miss Sinful Sundaze Bikini Contest (email Bikini@finnegansriver.com).

Finnegan’s Music Festival, Friday, September 3 at 4 p.m., Saturday-Sunday at 2 p.m. Finnegan’s River, 401 SW 3rd Ave., Miami; 305-285-3030. $10 a day or $15 for all 3 days. Tickets will be available at the door only.
