Meet the real Last Airbender - sort of
Critical reaction may have been mixed – OK, negative – so enough kids under the age of 12 liked The Last Airbender enough for it to gross more than $300 million worldwide. A big part of the appeal was the natural charisma of actor Noah Ringer, who starred in the film as Aang and kicked serious butt with his non-CGI martial arts skills.
In order to remind everyone the film is being released on DVD and Blu-ray Tuesday, Paramount Pictures has arranged for Ringer to participate in a special streaming video event in which hundreds of American Taekwondo Association students (including one school in South Florida) will be able to ask him questions directly.
The actor, who achieved a first-degree black belt when he was only 12, will also demonstrate some of his movies. Ringer will next be seen in the 2011 summer blockbuster Cowboys Vs. Aliens.
