That traffic you see around the AmericanAirlines Arena on Saturday night won’t be for a Miami Heat game. The iHeartRadio Fiesta Latina is back for the third year. The hottest Latin acts on the planet will assemble to celebrate the best of the best with performances by Enrique Iglesias, Juanes, Nicky Jam, Yandel, Gente de Zona, J Balvin, Pitbull and Daddy Yankee.
We spoke to reggaeton great Daddy Yankee, aka Ramón Ayala Rodríguez, before the the star-studded event, which will video stream live on TELEMUNDO.com starting at 8:15 p.m.
Are you pumped to perform at the Fiesta?
Of course! I’m always excited to be part of this great event. I had the opportunity to perform at the same concert in Los Angeles two years ago, and the energy of the fans was incredible. This year bringing the show to Miami, my second home, feels great.
What will your set be like?
Be prepared for a show full of energy and hits. I like always to leave it to the imagination of the fans but one track that won’t be missed is my worldwide anthem “Gasolina.” Plus new stuff — “Shaky Shaky” — which has been No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart for the past two weeks. The success with this song is pretty cool. It’s been No. 1 in several countries such as Mexico, United States, Colombia, Chile and Argentina, so it really is a global phenomenon right now.
What are you wearing?
I have to decide — quickly!
What is your favorite song to perform live?
“Limbo” is one of the most fun. It turns every venue into a big party. But I also enjoy “Gasolina.” I feel like I recorded it yesterday, never gets old.
