7 things you must taste when in Miami
When in Miami, do as the Miamians do – and that means trying these 7 defining flavors of the 305 at least once in your life.
1. Cuban Coffee
Affectionately referred to as cafecito, this stuff is the world’s version of FDA-approved kryptonite. To us Miamians, it’s as necessary (sometimes more so) than water.
2. Croquetas
Whether you go for ham, chicken or fish, these little monsters never fail to satisfy our universal craving for warm, fried and delicious.
3. A Mojito
The unofficial official drink of Miami (aside from cuban coffee), no trip to Miami is complete without drinking down a tall, ice cold mojito. We suggest following the first one up with a second.

4. Jugofresh
Born of the pressed juice craze that swept Miami not too long ago, Jugofresh has managed to outlive the trend, becoming a staple of many Miamians’ hangover cure routine.
5. Groovy’s Pizza
The one on Washington Avenue in Miami Beach, right next to Icon nightclub. At 4 a.m. when you stumble out of the club groggy and hit hard with a bad case of the munchies, Groovy’s giant pizza slices are heavensent.
6. Pastelitos
Preferably of the meat, cheese or guava variety and ordered while standing at the window of a bodega. Made with plenty of sugar and carbs, pastelitos and cafecitos are the Miamian’s breakfast of champions.
7. Locally-brewed beer
Head to Wynwood’s ‘brewery row’ and check out a variety of local brews from breweries like Concrete Beach, Wynwood Brewing Company, J. Wakefield Brewing and more.
