You’ll feel better in no time and might even have bragging rights that you saw the next big comedian when they were doing the club circuit.
Artistic Vibes
It’s a mash up of laughter at Artistic Vibes where local talented comedians and spoken word poets grace the stage during their open mic night. Taurus Beer & Whiskey House
Taurus Beer & Whiskey House is the new name of one of the Grove’s most beloved bars. It’s a place that long-time Coconut Grove residents always reminisce about during its heydays in the 1970s and ’80s. Revived as a beer & whiskey bar, they also have a weekly Thursday night stand-up comedy show they call Speakeasy. Local comedian Freddy Stebbins hosts an evening with Miami’s hottest rising stand-up comics. By all means sample a few of their cocktails, drafts or whiskeys from their huge selection. 9 p.m., 3540 Main Hwy., Coconut Grove, 305-529-6523 taurusbeerandwhiskey.com
Churchill’s Pub
One of Miami’s longest standing live music venues where the punk and hard rockers hang, Churchill’s Pub has almost been home to a weekly open mic night for the past 15 years. They call it Theatre du Underground and although it’s primarily a night to jam with jazz, there are also plenty of surprise guests who can oftentimes be comedians. Because it is Churchill’s unpredictability is a certainty and with a host who goes by Rio Dios Mio! definitely bound to be interesting. 9 pm, 5501 NE 2 Ave., Miami, no cover, 305-757-1807 www.churchillspub.com

Villain Theater
A hilarious troupe performing Chicago Improv has slowly crept into the comedy circuit in Miami, performing at one of Miami’s busiest event venues, MADE at the Citadel. The ensemble, made up of more than 30 performers, call themselves Villain Theater but there’s nothing sinister about them. What they are is serious about Improv, cranking out several shows from Thursday through Saturday. Thursdays’ Must See TV is a blend of improv, sketch, stand-up and open mic while TGIF and Saturday Gigantic (likely named after the popular show Sabado Gigante on Spanish television that recently went off the air) showcase Chicago Improv and sketch comedy style bits. Thursdays at 9:30 p.m.; Fridays and Saturdays at 8, 9:30 and 11 p.m., 8325 NE 2 Ave., Miami, 786-537-5430 www.villaintheater.com
