The City Beautiful’s Miracle Mile is getting a makeover and with that certainly new restaurants alongside the area’s old standard spots. For three weeks, participating restaurants will offer prix-fixe lunch and dinner menus at discounted prices.
Taste of the Caribbean
June 6-10

The Caribbean’s top chefs, pastry chefs and bartenders come together in a head-to-head competition to prepare the top dish, cocktail and dessert pastry. It’s also a chance for food and beverage suppliers to host educational sessions, provide samples and showcase the newest industry items.
Ultimate Miami
June 10-11, 17-18
Where: Magic City Casino, 450 NW 37th Ave., Miami
This three-phase competition brings drag queens, comedians, bartenders, singers and pastry chefs together under one roof for the ultimate competition in each category. George Lamond, Rockell and Collage headline the Ultimate Voice contest while comedian Carlos Mencia leads the comedy competition.
Colors of the Caribbean
June 18
Where: Hollywood ArtsPark at Young Circle, 1 N. Young Cir., Hollywood
Colors of the Caribbean celebrates Caribbean American Heritage Month with music and flavors of the islands featuring live performances by Alison Hinds from Barbados, T-Vice and Jahnesta from Haiti, Red Rat from Jamaica, Trinidad’s Queen Omega and E.sy Kennenga from Martinique.
Redland Summer Fruit Festival
June 18-19

Sample and buy the best and freshest summer fruits at this annual local agricultural show and sale of tropical fruits. Spend the weekend sampling local wines, rare fruits and nosh on tasty dishes.
Irie Weekend
June 22-25
Where: Various locations throughout Miami
Always a stop for celebrities and pro athletes, Irie Weekend keeps Miami at the top of their jet-setting list. DJ Irie, the Miami Heat’s official DJ, hosts a lineup of events including a celebrity golf tournament, VIP kick-off concert, BBQ Beach Bash and parties at LIV and E11EVEN. Proceeds benefit the IRIE Foundation, an organization that helps at-risk youth.
