Miss the good old days of Miami nightlife? Hop over to this new supper club
Reboots are fashionable – just look at “Roseanne.” And there’s a big reboot happening in Miami nightlife, too.
First, there was the Wynwood reboot of Home Cookin’, the uber popular 1994 South Beach one nighter at Groove Jet. And now comes a new and improved incarnation of The Cottontail, a new supper-club concept debuting April 3 and running every Tuesday at Brickell hot spot Barsecco.
Nightlife veteran Mykel Stevens says The Cottontail is “an urban sophisticated networking social hour, supper club and after party.”
If you lived or vacationed in South Beach during the 1990s and 2000s you probably experienced Stevens’ hedonistic Monday night party, Back Door Bamby.
Stevens, who has been living in Los Angeles and working on a start-up, recently returned to Miami to launch Wagon Water early this summer.
The Cottontail features two showtimes, he says: “Happy hour and dinner. I made it so we can go out and enjoy a show and still be home early.” Spoken like a seasoned scenester.
Self professed throwback to the Rat Pack Days, John Hood is resurrecting his Thug Sinatra persona specifically for the launch of The Cottontail.
Known as much for his nightlife notoriety as his Hunter S. Thompsonesque interviews, he’ll be crooning everything from Rick Ross’ “Hustlin'” and Flo Rida’s “Right Round” to more contemporary surprises from the likes of Kesha and Camila Cabello. He’ll sing classics from the real Rat Pack era, too.
RSVP to clubcottontail.com for a complimentary welcome cocktail at the premiere party.
