Wynwood is on the precipice of receiving a serious dose of home design prowess. Opening this month, Designer Casa will house high-end contemporary furniture with mindful price points. “Our showroom is designed for tasteful and sophisticated clientele — it’s an affordable Artefacto, if you will,” Designer Casa Owner Karim Abud says.
Wrapped in a sea of crisp whites, the sun-filled showroom is replete with exposed ceilings and wooden floors — with the furniture, naturally, being the main focus. Customers can expect Balinese recycled wood dinning table bases, stunning chandeliers, faux alligator skin and stainless steel lounge chairs, and even Brazilian cowhide carpets designed by Abud himself.

“My collection is inspired by contemporary elegance. It’s about having a balance in your home of modern yet comfortable pieces that not only look good but are made from the best materials in the market,” Abud says. The shop’s “cool” factor? Designer Casa can custom create almost anything your heart desires — down to fabric choice.
As for the showroom’s intrepid choice of location, Abud adds, “Wynwood is the perfect combination of urban with hip. I don’t want to be the typical showroom as found in the Design District. I’m not about that, or the bluff. You don’t need to be pretentious to show style, or class, or to make a point. It’s about taste and I feel Wnywood has this and the eclectic and artistic part of it is a little of who I feel I am inside.”
