Art and Nature in a Manufactured Era
“Anthroposcene: Art and Nature in a Manufactured Era,” a group exhibition featuring 11 artists, including Deborah Mitchell of AIRIE, Lucinda Linderman, and Daniel Dickinson, who engage with the environment and related themes opens Wednesday, March 4 with a panel discussion from 9 a.m. – noon at the University of Miami’s Ungar Building, 1365 Memorial Dr., Coral Gables. The show’s programming continues with lunch and a gallery tour at 12:30 pm. at UM’s CAS Gallery, 1210 Sanford Dr. Interactive workshops are from 2 – 5 p.m. and the opening reception is 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Guests must register for all events at anthroposcene.weebly.com. WWI at The Wolfsonian
The Wolfsonian-FIU hosts three national scholars of film, literature, visual art, and WWI memorials as they examine the impact of the war on American culture with a panel discussion preceded by a breakfast reception at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 7. “Unscripted Art Chat” Bal Harbour presents a presentation by South African-born and Berlin-based video artist Candice Breitz and discussion with Bonnie Clearwater, director and chief curator of NSU Art Museum Fort Lauderdale, Tuesday, March 10 at 6:30 p.m. at the Ritz-Carlton, 10295 Collins Ave., Bal Harbour.
