What do A-listers such as Scarlett Johansson, Kate Bosworth, Kate Hudson, Emma Stone, Michelle Williams, Katie Holmes, Christina Hendricks and Olivia Wilde have in common? They’ve all received the glam treatment by Dolce&Gabbana National Makeup Artist Christian McCulloch, that’s what. In town recently for a Saks Fifth Avenue Bal Harbour appearance, we chat up the New York-based makeup wizard on Spring trends, how to nail your selfie game and more.

Let’s talk Spring forecast. What are the top trends? I love the bright or deep matte lip look with a glowing summer complexion. It’s an easy way to amplify any regimen without needing a long time or complicated techniques. Dolce&Gabbana has the most incredible Matte Lipsticks launching this spring — they’re  silky smooth, deeply pigmented matte lipsticks available in such an array of shades. The Primer, which recently launched as well, has SPF 30 and is not only creamy, but radiance-boosting. I love it for any red carpet opportunity but it’s great for every-day use — especially in the summer when you need less coverage.

What color lipstick should every woman invest in right now? I would say a bold lip —especially red — is essential. There are many reds on the spectrum so the trick is finding the one that really complement your coloring and style. Often times, we forget to try new things!

What is the key to clear skin? Always, cleanse, tone, exfoliate, moisturize and use a mask!  Sleep, a lot of water and a balanced diet, too. So many things like stress or excessive alcohol affect our skin so you should always try to control what you can. It’s crucial to go to bed with properly cleansed skin.

You’ve worked with Scarlett Johansson, Kate Bosworth, Kate Hudson, Emma Stone, Michelle Williams, Katie Holmes, Christina Hendricks, and Olivia Wilde. Which celebrity would you like to get your hands on next? I love all those girls. I would love to work with Felicity Jones, Dakota Johnson, Sienna Miller, Cate Blanchett, Emily Blunt and Jessica Chastain to name a few!

Quick! It’s your day off. What are you doing? Answering emails and getting a great breakfast, obviously! Good, healthy food and exercise is key. Being in Miami is great because you can sneak in a run on the beach or a Barry’s Bootcamp!

What do you love most about the Magic City? Apart from the climate and the beach lifestyle, you guys really love your music and love to dance!  I never seem to be too far from a dance floor in Miami and I love that.
