One laser show wasn’t enough. Now the Frost Science planetarium is twice as cool.
First Fridays no more! The Frost Science Museum introduces a second laser show at its high-tech planetarium.
The Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science has been impressing the public with its new facility in downtown Miami for six months now.
And while the return of the monthly laser show made the new planetarium a hit, the Frost Museum has more to offer this fall: a second laser show every month.
The popular laser show put lights to classic rock ‘n’ roll hits in a state-of-the-art facility only paralleled by 12 others in the world. The music of The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Lady Gaga and Radiohead are visually paired in the 67-foot dome constructed for a nearly 360-degree view. The hour long shows happened between 7 p.m. and 1 a.m. every first Friday and, starting back in June, welcomed curious adults to spend an evening exploring the $305 million museum.
But the laser show, formerly called First Fridays, won’t be confined to first Fridays any more. A slight name tweak and the new Laser Fridays will grant twice as much entertainment with shows on the first and third Fridays of every month. The regularly scheduled event will still occur Friday, but patrons can return again for a different displays on Oct. 20.

Laser Fridays will also introduce a new lineup of acts, which will add Beyoncé, Bob Marley and the Foo Fighters to the Frost Museum’s all-star lineup.
Laser Friday combo tickets offer admission to the sold-out shows and museum after hours, but tickets can be purchased just for the light show. (There’s also beer… and wine).
