Trio of concerts for the dog days of summer

The next two weeks brings a mere trio of classical music performances to South Florida but the programs are worthwhile, even if it means a trip to Fort Lauderdale or Delray Beach.

1. Community Arts Program 2017 Summer Concert Series

The Los Angeles Guitar Quartet performs a program of masterworks, contemporary and culturally diverse music from Latin America, Africa, Europe and Asia as well as American classics. 2. Nova Singers Summer Sing

The Nova Southeastern University singers invite nine students from a local high school to perform with them. At this concert they’ll read through new choral literature planned for their upcoming season as well as review Jubilate Deo by Dan Forrrest. 3. Music at St. Paul’s

Violinist Mei Mei Luo and pianist Daphne Spottiswood will perform Cesar Franck’s Violin Sonata, Liszt’s Concert Etude for piano, pieces by Argentinian composer Piazzolla featuring tango elements and a piece by Spanish composer Pablo de Sarate featuring gypsy melodies.
