Sometimes there can be so many events and things to do in South Florida that you have to pick and choose with ones are a must attend and which ones you’ll have to catch next time around…and other times you’re at home twiddling your fingers wondering what everyone else is doing. And then, there are times when you don’t want to be in the madness of it all and instead just want to enjoy some good music, have some good conversation over cocktails, and find a good scene to kickback and people watch.

So since Miami Soul is your bestfriend for knowing what to do, here’s a roundup of reoccurring events around South Florida so that you never have to wonder where everyone is hanging out and what is there to do.

Secret Society Mondays

Every Monday, 11PM – FDR at Delano, 1685 Collins Ave, South Beach


Weekly Monday hip hop night that started at Bambu, moved to Bed, and is now at the FDR Lounge at the Delano.

The Session: Live Music Open Mic Night

Every Tuesday, 8PM – 11PM – Piano at Seminole Hard Rock, 5805 Seminole Way, Hollywood

Hosted by Ingrid B, enjoy live music and open mic for singers and musicians. Complimentary admission with RSVP; $5 general admission. 2-4-1 cocktails 7pm – 9pm; open mic 9:30pm – 11:30pm. Singers and musicians can sign up at the door for open mic.

1st Wednesdays HBCU/Black Alumni Networking Social

Every 1st Wednesday,
6PM – 9PM – Various locations

For the past six years, the monthly 1st Wednesdays Black Alumni Social presented by the South Florida HBCU Alumni Alliance has been the most consistent monthly networking event of South Florida’s upwardly mobile young black professionals. The Bohemian Room Open Mic Poetry Night

Every Wednesday,

Every month, the Black Archives and the Southeast Park West CRA presents a lively showcase of amateur acts at the World Famous Historic Lyric Theater for a chance to compete for a $500 prize. Hosted by local comedian Chello, enjoy live music and a mix and mingle happy hour featuring a live DJ and a cash bar from 6pm – 7:20pm. Seating starts at 7:15pm. Big Night in Little Haiti

Every 3rd Friday, 6pm – 10pm – Little Haiti Cultural Center, 212 NE 59th Terr, Miami


If you’ve never been to Big Night in Little Haiti then you’re missing out on a cultural event and live Haitian music that Haitians and non-Haitians alike enjoy every month…and it’s always free. It’s a fun event that everyone can enjoy and includes art activities for kids, Haitian cuisine for sale, the exhibition in the art gallery, and the hottest Haitian bands giving an energetic performance. There’s always an after show party across the street at 7th Circuit Studios with Moksha Roots Live for an authentic reggae experience.
