You just worry about getting ready. We’ll tell you all the things to do at Florida Supercon
People watching at Florida Supercon is almost as entertaining as the gaming, celebrity guests, wrestling and cosplay contests. That’s because the attention to detail in cosplay outfits is impressive and a sight to behold. Take it all in July 27 through July 30 at the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention Center.
Tickets are being sold online ahead of the conference and people interested in attending can save 10 percent on general admission with the code SUPER10 if they make a purchase before July 23.
Those who want to win entry to Florida Supercon, get to Wynwood’s Concrete Beach Brewery for Concrete-A-Con on July 21. Besides the Gauntlet Comic Book pop-up shop, Japanese treats by Gaijin Taiyaki and beer discounts for cosplayers, patrons have the chance to win tickets to Supercon by entering a video game contest. The grand prize is two tickets to Supercon.
Once there, the number of Supercon activities and events can become overwhelming, so here’s a guide to help navigate the four days.
COSPLAY EVENTS
One of the Supercon highlights is the cosplayers. They roam around the floor and are always happy to stop for selfies. Fans of anime, gaming, superheroes and cartoons, you’ll have your fill. Most attendees in costume though are there to enter the various costume contests like Masquerade Costume and Performance Competition, Runway Contest and the Superboys and Supergirls late-night costume contest. They’ll also party into the wee hours at the Groovy Cosplay DiskoTrek Friday Night Dance Party. Plus, they’ll be plenty of meet and greets and autograph sessions with professional cosplayers.

There will also be celebrity guests from “Guardians of the Galaxy” (Pom Klementieff), “The Walking Dead” (Chandler Riggs and Josh McDermott), “Dr. Who” (Peter Capaldi) and “Clerks” (Brian O’Halloran and Jason Mewes).
