Inspiration: A Bohemian mentality, adventurous spirit and jetsetter lifestyle.

Caffé Swimwear’s 2015 collection keyed in on vibrant colors, beautiful prints and Ikat patterns. The first few looks offered a hint of what was to come, with soft yellow and grey Ikat patterned long cover-ups, bikinis, harem pants and short dresses. A silky melon maxi made a striking statement, followed by a parade of bronzed skin models in beautiful multi-colored printed suits and flowing cover-ups. More bold patterns in hues of purple, turquoise and green, and a strong, royal blue and white Ikat design rounded out the colorful collection.

Designer Kirsten Ehrig-Sarkisian’s Belusso Resort 2015 collection had a sexy, fun-loving vibe, marked by brightly lit – often neon – nearly floor-length tassels and fringe. Fabrics ranged from a subtle green feather and white print, to an unexpectedly deep, shimmery silver pattern. Shapes ran the gamut, with cut-out or one-shouldered one-pieces, bikinis, crop tops, shorts, harem pants and cover-ups. The most memorable swimsuits carried the long, colorful tassels, often seen most vividly from behind – creating a surprising allure.

Inspiration: Dead Sea, Israel
The stylish brand offered flattering and glamorous pieces by designer Keren Gasner, going with simple designs that were accentuated by small details. Photo prints consisted of seashells and bottoms symbolizing the ocean’s ecosystem with the turquoise color. The poolside show portrayed the essence of the ocean as well as the sand.

Inspiration: Contemporary dance
The Australian brand presented a compact, smart collection mimicking the fluid lines of dance. It was both dark and dazzling, asymmetrical black and silver (think Flashdance) swimsuits with high-wasted cut-out bottoms, mock necks, and sleeved crop tops. The prints tended towards graphic black and whites, palms and tropical florals. The one-pieces and bikinis were shown with playful coordinating bomber jackets.

Inspiration: The warrior princess of Nepal

It was a watercolor explosion at the 6 Shore Road swim show where models rocked fierce warrior-inspired braids, henna tattoos, and traditional nose piercings to go along with the Nepalese influence that served as inspiration for the collection. Vibrant floral swimsuits in rich jewel-toned hues were accentuated with sexy cutouts and a high-waisted cut was a recurrent trend amongst the pieces. Bright solids in edgy designs were also in demand. Tribal neons and mandala geo shaped prints were splashed across statement one-pieces and beach cover ups and slip-on dresses that could easily be taken from the beach to the bar. Closing the show was model/super blogger, Natalie Off Duty, but it was the line’s designer, Pooja, who received a roaring reception from the crowd.

Inspiration: Miami Nice
The popular brand offered a full ode to all-things Miami, starting with stilted junkanoo-like dancers and a soundtrack featuring Gloria Estefan & the Miami Sound Machine. The air was festive as the high-energy runway show unfolded, rich in tropical and zig zag prints, paisley and splashes of gold and pastels inspired by the iconic Miami Vice television series. The beauty was in the detailing: crochet, knotted net, braiding and tassels. The strapless and halter-top maxi dresses were standouts but it was the last bronzed model that wowed the crowd wearing a deep coral monokini trimmed in feathers.
