Free First Thursdays at Perez Art Museum Miami

In honor of Haitian Heritage Month, PAMM in collaboration with Rhythm Foundation, presents a free performance by the legendary Haitian konpa group the Shleu Shleu Miami All Stars, enjoy cocktails from PAMM’s waterfront bars, and enjoy Caribbean art exhibitions including “Caribbean: Crossroads of the World” and “Edouard Duval-Carrié: Imagined Landscapes.” The night also kicks off the Greater Miami Convention and Visitor Bureau’s Miami Museum Month. FREE admission. Self-parking on-site as available ($2/hour) or you can take Metromover to Museum Park station.

Free Yoga Classes

Thursday, May 1, 6PM – Little Haiti Cultural Center, 212 NE 59th Terr, Miami


Free yoga classes are available very Thursday for beginners, intermediate, and advanced participants. Classes are taught by a certified yoga teacher, participants must be at least 18 years old. Bring your own yoga mat, water and towel. Supported by the Miami Foundation.

Lyric Live

Every month, the Black Archives and the Southeast Park West CRA presents a lively showcase of amateur acts at the World Famous Historic Lyric Theater for a chance to compete for a $500 prize. Hosted by local comedian Chello, enjoy live music by Jody Hill and the Deep Fried Funk Band. Doors open for a mix and mingle happy hour featuring a live DJ and a cash bar from 6pm – 7:20pm. 4th Annual Strike for a Cure Against Kidney Disease

The Zeta Rho Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Health Committee has taken the initiative to combat Kidney Disease in a bowling tournament with proceeds benefiting The American Kidney Fund. The event is open to the public. Tournament fees are $25 for adults and $20 for children and includes: 2 hours of bowling, bowling shoes, food, soft drinks, charitable contribution to benefit kidney disease, and souvenir T-shirt (while supplies last).
