Things To Do

Miami's booze & boogie scene heats up with a new club & more reasons to eat, drink & be merry

In Blume

A departure from the usual ultra modern, sleek, futuristic Miami nightclub, Blume, 1421 S. Miami Ave., has sprouted on Brickell and with it comes 5,000 square feet of floral fancy including, they tell us, a “lush, idyllic Garden Bar Terrace.” Yes, it’s all modern, but it’s also very flowery right down to the bar menu of “Floral Sips.” See for yourselves as the place opens to the public Saturday, Oct. 17 with its booming Dynacord Alpa System loud enough to wilt most delicate flowers. New theme nights there include Rough House Thursdays, Fridays I’m in Love (open format with Latin influences) and So Sweet Sundays on Saturdays featuring vocal house and open format. “Brickell is a blooming neighborhood, housing more and more sophisticated residents, and as the city expands each year, so does the demand for high-end nightlife venues,” says partner Jose Manuel Vazquez. We’ve already established long standing restaurant and bar establishments in the area and we are excited to take it to the next level with Blume.”

Celebrating its one year anniversary as a place with substance in addition to style and booze, LILT Lounge, 270 Biscayne Blvd. Way, is throwing a big party at 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17 featuring an extended happy hour, specially priced champagnes, dollar oysters and live music, this time to benefit Jose’s Hands, an organization dedicated to medical mission work. There will also be a silent auction from which a portion of the proceeds in addition to those from food and beverage, will go to the charity. Better Days Indeed

Tuesday on Saturday

Best known for his Grammy-nominated song Tuesday, the singer known as ILoveMakonnen will be hosting the party from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 17 at FDR at the Delano, 1685 Collins Ave. DJ Don Hot will “provide the sounds to ignite the intimate space into a high-energy, booty shaking night to remember,” says a press rep, who also encourages “comfortable shoes.”
