There’s a new fish in Wynwood’s pond. SWGR, a unique mash-up of art and urban apparel, has opened up shop in Miami’s thriving art district.
Would you believe us if we said the anomalous gallery space and clothing boutique was started by fishermen? Here’s the catch: Founder Daniel Hassan was a long-time competitive sports fisher when he and his friends decided to bring their love of the water to art and streetwear.

The SWGR attire includes long and short-sleeved t-shirts, hats and buffs for men and women — a call to retire the tired khakis and dreaded multi-pocketed vests. “We’re here to have fun, promote the sport and present another option,” Hassan says. All pieces are designed with lightweight, high-performance fabrics to offer sun protection while cruising the Miami waters.
The décor is alternative nautical. Aside from a 280-gallon aquarium and maritime wonders, you can look forward to gallery showcases by nationally known artists like Jesse Draxler, Adam Cohen and Jake Lamagno.
It’s time to put down the Salt Life tee and drop SWGR a line.
