In South Miami, they’ll celebrate everything on two wheels during the SoMi Bike-in Festival and Street Bash, a culmination of this week’s WHEELS Festival.

And children will spend their Saturday at the Coral Gables Museum during Family Day on Aragon.
Sitting on The Porch at The Swamp
The Miami Book Fair International at Miami-Dade College Wolfson Campus kicks off Sunday Nov. 15 with literary festivities, performances and food and beer. At 5:30 p.m. in The Porch, the Kick-off Party begins with a performance from the Miami Poetry Collective, some barbecue grub and Biscayne Bay Brewing selections for sale. Then at 8:30 p.m. at The Swamp, CircX Cabaret presents a mash-up show of mime, street theater and burlesque. Admission to both events is free. The college is at 300 NE Second Ave., Miami.
Wheels around town
With the excitement building around The Underline project and more places to ride a bicycle, this week’s WHEELS event culminates with two happenings on Saturday Nov. 14 in South Miami at Dorn Avenue and Southwest 73rd Street:
• The SoMi Bike-in Family Festival at 1 p.m. features Kidical mass bike ride for the tikes and tweens, a scavenger hunt, bike rodeo and more.
• That’s followed by the SoMi Bike-In Street Bash at 5:30 p.m. where cyclists will ride through the heart of the city. Admission to these events is free.
Take me to the river
The Eighth Annual Downtown Miami Riverwalk Festival takes place Saturday Nov. 14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This year’s theme is Trinidad and Tobago, and features a rum cake bake off, boat parade, kids’ activities, traditional arts and crafts, food and beverages for sale, folkloric music and dance performances, and more. Admission is free. Ride the Metromover to Bayfront Park station and walk to the river, or park at The One Bayfront Plaza, 100 S. Biscayne Blvd.
Family fun at Coral Gables Museum
The Coral Gables Museum salutes the troops in honor of Veteran’s Day during Family Day on Aragon from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday Nov. 14. Meet and greet a soldier from the Armed Forces, watch a performance by the 13th Army Band and tour the current exhibition Anne Morgan’s War: American Women Rebuilding France, 1917-1924. Donations for military care packages will be accepted. Free admission and free arts and crafts. The museum is at 285 Aragon Ave., Coral Gables, 33134.
Four-wheeled classics on display in Davie
The picturesque 46-acres Rolling Oaks Park sets the scene for the Southwest Ranches Benefit Car & Truck show on Saturday Nov. 14 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Hosted by the Southwest Ranches Parks Foundation and Rockin’ Rich, the show features a variety of shiny, chrome-filled vintage cars and trucks from all years, makes and models. Don’t miss the food trucks and a country fair in the park’s shady country setting. Admission is free. The park is at 17630 SW 56th St., Southwest Ranches, 33331.
