‘Tis the season for mistletoe and matzo balls, as in the annual Jewish singles party on Christmas Eve. This year’s soiree starts at 9 p.m. Thursday at the Radio Bar, 814 1st St., where the 25 and older (but hopefully not much older or we’re entering into Woody Allen territory, oy) crowd will pay $40 for cash bar and the chance to meet “the one.” There’s also a party going on simultaneously at LIV, for which entry is $50 and age range is 21 and up. Way up, we bet. A combo ticket to both places for the real FOMO types is $75. On Christmas Day, head to the MatzoSplash Pool Party from noon-6 p.m. at the Fontainebleau featuring DJ Razor and drink specials. $30 gets you in. For those who want to triple their chances of meeting someone, a $100 VIP bracelet includes access to all three events with no lines. That’s a real matzo baller. Room specials at the Fontainebleau are also available for a limited time at $199. For tickets go to www.eventbrite.com.

Dens of inequity and assorted rooms of ill repute are nothing new to Miami, but cozy, high-end smoking rooms are and that’s why Lique Miami, 3957 NE 163rd St, in partnership with XM Cigar Co. & Dist., is opening “the world’s first boutique cigar showroom and lounge,” a cozy smoking den featuring a wide range of high-end cigars and hookahs as well as “robust liquors” and cocktails. In celebration of this smoking new spot, the lounge is hosting a soft opening party from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19 with hand rolled cigars, signature Chivas cocktails and passed hors d’oeuvres. For more information on the place and upcoming events there, go to liquemiami.com.
Funk You Up
In celebration of the season and of life, Latin funk group Electric Piquete is closing out the year with a holiday party slash Relay For Life benefit starting at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19 at Woody’s West End Tavern, 600 Payne Dr., Miami Springs. The band will play three hour-long sets of Latin funk and fusion. There is no cover.
Putting the ‘e’ in Weeknd
As much as it makes us cringe that he left out the third ‘e’ in his name, The Weeknd is pretty talented and will prove so at his show Saturday at the American Airlines Arena. For those going or not going, the vowel minimalist is having an after party at LIV where he will offer a preview of what people can expect when he returns to the Fontainebleau to host their poolside New Year’s Eve party with DJ Kygo. Tickets to The Madness after party are $100 and available at www.LIVnightclub.com.
