Cigars & Stilettos Pre-Jazz Kickoff

The Bad Boys of Miami are at it again with a “Stogies and Stilettos” after work party on the lawn featuring The Life-Style Band and DJ Funkmaster Ollie. Dress code Miami chic, linen, and seersuckers for the gentlemen and ladies sundresses and stilettos. Cigars will be sold on-site with a dedicated smoking section next to the pool. Pre-Jazz Social with the Kappas

The gentlemen of the Miramar-Pembroke Pines Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. hosts a jazz weekend kickoff social. Admission $20 in advance and $30 at the door with proceeds benefitting the Kappa MPPAC Foundation. Tickets can be purchased online at

Flow Fridays Live Music & Poetry Dinner Party

Jazz Festival Brunch

Before you kick off your Jazz in the Gardens experience, join a group of local organizations for a Jazz brunch at the newest Black owned restaurant. Participating organizations include South Florida Professionals, South Florida HBCU Alumni Alliance, Howard University Alumni Club of South Florida, the National Black MBA Association South Florida Chapter, The Mosaic Group, and Miss Xpose.

South Florida HBCU Greek 5K Run/Walk

Saturday, March 19, 6PM – 10AM – Betty T. Ferguson Center, 3000 NW 199th St, Miami Gardens

Join HBCU alumni, Greek sororities and fraternities, Black alumni and other organizations for the inaugural 5K Run/Walk spearheaded by Complete Athletes along with Miami Gardens Councilman Rodney Harris, 100 Black Men of South Florida, and the Academic Hustle. The race will raise scholarship funds for future HBCU students. Participants will receive an event tshirt, gifts, and awards for the top three runners. Register online at
