The lowdown: Peruvian-born designer Julian Chang just announced the opening of his new flagship boutique in the MiMo district. Slated to open April 2016, Chang’s eponymous boutique will offer a cornucopia of couture options, including pieces from his ready-to-wear collection as well as a line of unique accessories and selected menswear — all made here in the U.S. Hooray to that!

The ‘hood: Nestled on Biscayne Boulevard, the boutique’s neighbors include soon-to-open Trina Turk, The Vagabond and Blue Collar among others.

The vibe: Elegant and inviting. The boutique will be presented in an intimate setting with elements of natural materials carefully curated by Chang and his business partner Valentina Gutchess.

Highlights: Fans of his collections (think bold prints and signature silhouettes), can have a one-of-a-kind design made exclusively by Chang. Other options for custom-made designs include suits, evening gowns and ready-to-wear pieces.

Customers say: A fan of the designer’s evening dresses, Janette Del Toro says she turns to Chang when it comes to looking impeccable. “[His] evening dresses are gorgeous and fit fabulously,” she says.
