Casa D’Angelo, the upscale Italian restaurant that brought a dash of elegance to the Aventura ParkSquare development, has closed for good.

A representative of the restaurant confirmed the closing (Google claims the restaurant, which is located at 2906 NE 207th St. next to Bar Taco, is “temporarily closed.”)

There was no explanation as to why the restaurant, known for its Tuscan cuisine, extravagant wine list and large patio area, closed.

The first Casa D’Angelo opened on Federal Highway in Fort Lauderdale in 1998, the creation of founder Angelo Elia, who learned to cook growing up in Salerno, Italy. He moved to New York at age 14, where he went on to work in many well-known kitchens, including the Four Seasons and La Cisterna.

In 1998, he opened the first Casa D’Angelo on Federal Highway in Fort Lauderdale with his wife Denise, opening another location on Palmetto Park Road in Boca Raton in 2008. Both of these locations will remain open.

The Aventura restaurant opened in the fall of 2019.
