The most prestigious Italian pizza guide has released its annual lists of the best pizzerias around the world, and several Miami spots have made the list, including a beloved slice shop and a swanky new(ish) restaurant in Wynwood.

Sometimes referred to as the “Michelin Guide” of pizza, 50 Top Pizza has released its annual rankings in several categories, including the top 50 pizza spots in the United States and the best slice shops.

Three Miami-area restaurants were mentioned in the top 50 pizzerias in the U.S., and the highest was Francesco Martucci Miami in Wynwood at no. 5. Martucci, whose restaurant I Masanelli in Caserta, Italy, was ranked the best pizza restaurant in the world, opened the Miami restaurant in January.

The restaurant is just a bit more expensive than you’d expect at your typical neighborhood pizzeria, which probably doesn’t offer a $200 tasting menu with three pizza tastings, cacio e pepe tortellini, grilled wagyu A5 and Sichuan pepper gelato for dessert.

The guide praised the restaurant’s “uncompromising quality” as well as its “attentive” service.

Also making the list were annual favorites La Leggenda in Miami Beach and O ‘Munaciello on Biscayne Boulevard in Miami, which were tied at no. 11 for best in the country. Both restaurants are known for their Neapolitan-style pies.

The best pizza restaurant in the U.S.A., according to 50 Top Pizza, is Una Pizza Napoletana on New York’s Lower East Side.

In the best slice category, the downtown hot spot Miami Slice, which started as delivery and pop-up shop in 2019, was ranked no. 3 in the country. 50 Top Pizza praised its thin, crispy pizza (that is of course perfect for folding).

The restaurant, which takes no reservations and only has a few seats, was praised for its “great personality and its own American identity: urban, precise, immediate,” the guide wrote. “An essential address to understand the evolution of the slice in the United States.”

Miami Slice, which is preparing to open a new location in Coconut Grove soon, responded on its Instagram account.

“This award means so much to us,” the post said. “We wouldn’t be where we are today without every person involved and the late nights put in along the way. Feeling grateful and proud.”

The best slice pizza, according to the guide, comes from L’Industrie Pizzeria in New York, which is known for a slice smothered in Burrata. There are locations in Little Italy, the West Village and Williamsburg.

Other ‘excellent’ pizzerias

50 Top Pizza also created a list of what it calls “excellent” pizzerias worth checking out, including La Natural in Little River, Il Pizzaiolo in Miami Beach and Key West’s Roostica. La Natural owner and chef Javier Ramirez was named one of the World’s Top Pizzaioli (pizza chefs) at the 2025 Best Pizza Awards in Milan.
