This striking rooftop bar above a popular Wynwood restaurant reimagines hip-hop
One of Wynwood’s most intriguing restaurants is opening a new rooftop bar.
Now open above chef Raheem Sealey’s Shiso Asian Smokehouse, which has partnered with the Forward Hospitality Group for this project, is On & On, a rooftop patio that not only focuses on cocktails but also acts as a setting for live music.
And not just any live music. The idea is for artists to reinterpret iconic hip-hop records, viewing them through different musical influences like soul, jazz and R&B.
Michael Schwartz (not that Michael Schwartz) of Forward Hospitality praised the idea of musicians and vocalists reinterpreting classic hip-hop.
“We want guests to feel like they’ve discovered something truly special, an experience they can’t find anywhere else,” he said.
There will be two sets a night at the bar, which features a racetrack-style bar and semi private cabanas as well as a retractable roof. You can order cocktails or bottle service.
At some point in the future, On & On plans to start a weekend brunch. For now, plan your dinner at Shiso, which opened in 2025 and features dishes like oxtail udon noodle, smoked short rib and uni rice, then head upstairs if you want to prolong the night.
Sealey, who made his mark in Miami as executive chef at Kyu in Wynwood, is also known for Drinking Pig BBQ, which he opened in Coconut Grove last year.
